Owens Corning, you should be ashamed that you're allowing individuals and organizations to use pressure sales tactics to push your product and agenda.

The salesman came out last month and took about 2.5 hours of our time to do and evaluation, drawings, plans and an estimate. The estimated cost for about 400 square feet was $30,000 (!!!) and that the offer was only good THAT NIGHT.

We said that the price was a little too much for us as finishing the basement wasn't a priority. The salesman said he understood and left. Then two weeks later I receive a call from someone else stating that the salesman's manager wants to offer us a "significant discount" BUT wants to schedule a time to come over to meet with us, take a look and go over our options.

I asked if I could get that quote now since they have all the information they need from the first visit and to save time. To this the person I was speaking with told me that he could not give me the quote because this manager does not give the estimate to the people calling potential customers; he only gives the estimate in person. I asked to speak with this manager and the person on the phone said, "It appears that you don't really want this offer, Mr. XXXX..." and then I was told I could not speak with the manager. I then told this salesperson that the manger could call me back to provide me the estimate over the phone. I was told that he may give me a call.

Never did I feel as though these people were taking into consideration my wants or needs first, only the sale. At this point I vow NOT to use the Owens Corning basement system and I'm considering an all out boycott of all their products. They're behaving poorly.

Sad.
